Mercy's Mark

A little while back, I met Mercy in the TNT chat room.

I fell in love with and bought this:

It's super fabulous! I love it lots!

Next, I saw this:

and again, I had to have it! Her hairbands are such great quality! They're fun, they're unique and they go with everything!

Then Mercy decided to try out hair bows and of course they were adorable and I had to have one!

I mean, how flippin' cute is that?! Skulls AND pink? It's like it was made just for me!

Don't need hairbands and bows? (pfffffft) Mercy also has super cute wallets and tote bags! Bonus? Mercy is a real sweetheart and you will be smitten with her warm personality!

I managed to score an interview with this busy lady! Hurray!

Name: Mercy

Store Name: Mercy's Mark Handbags and Accessories

What Made You Chose Your Shop Name:
In the very beginning of my bag making days (about 6 years ago) I used to sell under the name Shoot The Messenger. I always loved that name but my hubby was always mentioning that I should have my name in my logo in there somewhere. When I gave it a little more thought Mercy's Mark is what always came back to me. I think I'll keep that one forever! ♥

Date Shop Opened:
Oct. 5th, 2006. But I didn't start selling seriously until Sept. 2007

What You Sell: The sweetst handbags and totes ever! As well as wallets, zippered pouches and cute little hairbands!

What Made You Want To Start:
I've always loved sewing. Its one of the best things my momma passed on to me! But when we decided I should stay home to raise my three little rugrats, I thought what a perfect way to pull in a little fun money. And all the while keeping me sane AND feeding my fabric addiction! I think even when its time for me to go back into the work force I will always make time to keep contributing to my little shop.

Your Store in One Word or Phrase: "Your one stop shop for rockin' freshness!"

232 - So You Want To Start a Business

Over the weekend one of my twitter buddies, Jamie, posted a really great read on her blog about starting your own business for the craft minded. Be sure to head on over and check it out!

231- The Go-Everywhere, Go-With-Everything Cardigan

Many moons ago when I first started knitting, I knit this cardigan. I spent way too much on the yarn and wasn't really happy with the end results.

Well, a few years later, I have decided to try again. This time I'm making it with Bernat Softee Baby in Pink which was on sale at Michaels 2/$7 (I needed 4) and as an added bonus, my mom got them for me! What's better than free?

I cast the back piece on March 13 when I was in Bowmanville and bound off last night!

Today I have cast on the first front panel.

I'm going to add a hood and pockets to this one. I have to figure out how to knit a hood though. Any ideas?

One of my favourite bands, BS 101, will be there and they alone are worth the ticket price!

I'll have lemmings for sale! Made exclusively for the show! Everyone loves lemmings!

228 - Friday Funny

So, it seems I've gone AWOL again. I was in Bowmanville last weekend and then Ash was sick and then I had to format my computer thus losing all my stored passwords and the like. I also lost my collection of pictures for my Friday Funny! So horribly sad!
So here is one that I found in the last couple days and I hope it holds you over until I can be up and running again.
Have a fabulous weekend my Redd-Heads!

226 - Yarrrrrn!

So I was packing up for my trip this weekend and I grabbed my yarn bag. "This bag is missing something," I thought to myself. Then I remembered that my darling Mellie had bought me a patch from Sunny Days Embroidery. Perfect, so I set to work.

Behold the awesome power of yarrrrrn!

Much better!

222 - Vistaprint

Now I know that lots of people have had issues with Vistaprint. I am not one of those people. I've been using them since my business started and I love them!

I got my brand new business cards and thank you notes in the mail today after only having ordered them last week!

I mean, the pink isn't as bright as here but still, they're crisp and clear and just all around perfect! They had an awesome sale where even the uploads and glossy were on sale and that's when I strike. Sure, they send you an e-mail every few days but if you actually browse them, you know when the best deals are. I ordered "slow" service since it's half the cost and it still took less than a week to get to me. I am a happy camper indeed!
