246 - The Newest Hynes

So the night before last I got an e-mail from a friend saying that she knew of a cat that needed a new home due to allergies. I talked it over with Paul and he feel in love. Her name is Corona and she is absolutely beautiful and oh so soft. Jen, her human, brought her over tonight a little after 7. She is so sweet. I don't have a picture of her yet, as cats in a new place like to hide but this is the one that was attached to the e-mail that made us fall in love.

I know she's going to fit in great with us.  I can't wait till she comes out of hiding and I can show her off.

244 - Newsboy Hat Pattern!

So after a year or so of searching for the perfect crochet newsboy hat I found a really close one. It however wouldn't work out for me so I re-wrote it and changed it up and now have it to offer to you!

I didn't do a gauge, I just dove in, so sorry about that lol.

Using a bulky yarn (I used the beautiful James C. Brett Marble Chunky in Rosebush) and a J & G hook. You'll be crocheting in the round, so no joining rows! Just keep going! Huzzah!

*With J hook, start by making a magic loop.

*Make 12 dc into the loop. (12)

*3 dc into every dc (36)

*dc around (36)

*1 dc, 2 dc to end (54)

*dc around 9 times.

*sc around (54)

*switch to G hook

*sc in next 30 st. ch 1, turn

*sk1, sc to 2nd last st., sl 1. Ch 1, turn. Do this 10 times.

*using a needle, get rid of all your loose ends.

*enjoy your super awesome and super easy hat!

It fits 20-23" heads comfortably.

Feel free to make this hat and sell it. Just don't sell the pattern since you got it for free :). Feel free to point them to here!

242 - Raspberry Storm Collection!

So I've been on a knitting kick with my James C. Brett that I got at Soper Creek Yarns in Bowmanville visiting my sister.

It's such gorgeous yarn and one skein goes a looooong way!

So far I've made a basketwnoeave scarf:

And an earflap hat:

And that only took 3/4 of a skein!

I'm working on a pair of mitts right now.

I needed a break from the cardigan and the little needles.

239 - My Booth!

Making a booth on a budget can be easy and even fun!

I made the big displays with canvas from Michael's and painted them with black and pink acrylic paint. They are on metal easels. The easels were the most expensive part of this but I can use them for all my shows so they are a good investment.

I bought a package of wooden clothes pins from the dollar store and painted them pink. I used my glue gun to attach them to the back of the displays. I made the record bowls from old records that my dad gave me and they're perfect for buttons!

I did also splurge on a bust (I was using it for my shop pictures) and a ring display. It's just WAY easier to display rings in one of those things! The business card holder I got at Zellers for 2 dollars on clearance sale! The mirror was from the dollar store and I snazzed it up with puffy paint.

Now you know what my booth looks like! Feel special!

238 - Totally Random and Scattered Update

So my Basement Artists show was on Saturday night and it was my best yet. They keep getting better and better. My Scrabble tile necklaces were a hit and I even sold one of my lemmings! I'll be at Babylon again in July, I'll let you know when (I'll find out in June probably).

The hubster is in Hong Kong right now. I'm not digging this new traveling nonsense they've thrown at him. It's like the polar opposite of his work from home job that I adored and didn't even come with a raise! Lame! Taking care and entertaining a 3 year old 24/7 alone is EXHAUSTING! I am beyond tired but at least Ash is cute right?

My cardigan is coming along. I'm like 3/4 of the second front panel of my cardigan. It's a shame that it doesn't photograph well or I'd share so much with you and drive you crazy with boredom!

I have also included a cute frog so that this isn't just a boring post full of words and stuff. Please send help and coffee, please!

236 - The Go-Everywhere, Go-With-Everything Cardigan Pt. II

So I finished up the first front panel of my cardigan on Monday night! Started the second panel tonight. My wrists are right some mad at me these days but my cardigan will be worth it!

Taking pictures of cardigan bits is a pain and they look worse than they are but  ta da!

Let's hope it looks better when it's all done and assembled!
