So the glue on the flowers is all done and it's been put together. I really like the way it turned out.
After the competition it will be for sale at The Emporium.

So in the end it became a cowl. I finished the scarflette but when laid flat, the way it would probably be displayed at the store, it had no oomph. It looked great on, but no one would know that. So I stitched it up, closed the button hole and voila! A cowl!

So I finally got a chance to go to Soper Creek Yarn today. It's an awesome yarn shop in the heart of Bowmanville that's owned by a wonderful, friendly lady named Tina.
There was a basket that had bags of 5 balls of Mission Falls 1824 and a sheet of information with it.
For $5 you buy this bag and have a month to make something totally awesome with all of it. You can add yarn from your own stash but you must use all the colours that come in the kit.
I took one look at the kit and it told me that it wanted to be a rainbow scarflette.

So I stumbled across this totally amazing web comic today and I wanted to share it with you because, you'll love it. How could you not? It's lobsters. In trees.

The Pet Valu at the Bowmanville Mall carries cats from the Durham Humaine Society. We went in on Sunday and Paul noticed the largest cat we had ever seen. Even bigger than my old neighbours Maine Coone.
We asked about him. His name was Mr. Tom Sawyer.

We had just finished lunch today when someone came to our door. It was a delightful woman named Carol from the Welcome Wagon. Dude, the Welcome Wagon. She sat with us at our dining room table and told us all about the stuff to do and services available here. Wow. What a fabulous little friendly town.
Thank you Bowmanville for being totally awesome.

Hello my darling Redd-Heads!
Everyone has arrived in Bowmanville safe and sound.
Our house is even bigger than we had originally thought, even with all of our stuff set up. Our main floor managed to have room for Ash's play room, our living room AND a dining room.
Rogers screwed up with our internet so instead of getting it on Saturday we didn't get it until yesterday morning. 4 days without internet is entirely too long.
Since moving here we've been eating at home more often now that we're settled. Last night I made a delicious Thai chicken dish in our brand new Crock-Pot! And yes, it is a Crock-Pot brand so I don't have to say slow cooker lol.
So far Bowmanville is fabulous. Everyone here is so nice. If you pass someone on the street, they say hello to you. Being from a big city this seems so insanely foreign to me. It's nice.
Anyways, that's all for now. I have to go dig through my studio and try and get it organized so I can re-open the shops.
Also, Unikeys!
